Buy ONLY Induction friendly utensils. Canada doesn't have stoves that work on gas!

A minimalistic and complete kitchen utensils checklist to let you start your life in any country.

Cookware

3-litre Kadhai (with cover recommended)

3-litre Pressure Cooker

Frying Pan

Tawa (for heating roti, I'm managing fine with the frying pan)

Teapot (optional, and I mean the vessel that you keep on stove to boil water/milk)

Cutlery

2 to 4 plates (microwave friendly)

2 spoons (or a set)

2 knives (or a set)

2 forks (or a set)

2 water glasses (steel/plastic)

Coffee Mug (metal/ flight proof, I got on from Dollar Store)

Ladles and Other tools for cooking

1-2 knives

2 Ladles (for curries)

1 Flat Ladle (for chapatis/ roti)

2 Serving Spoons (for rice)

Egg beater/ Whisk

Grater

Grip (Sanchi)

Misc.

Tea strainer

Rolling Pin and Board (Chakla + Belan... I haven't made rotis since I landed)

Masala Box (7 to 8 compartments, really handy, I recommend)

Cutting Board (Plastic/ Wood)

Chopper

If you are inexperienced with cooking and knife skills, you MUST get a chopper. It can always be handy for making a chili, ginger, and garlic paste.
